"While down in New Orleans working on Tom Thompson‘s epic project with the New Orleans Gentleman of Jazz I managed to get video clips as well as still photography on each of the musicians. Not an easy task with so much going on. When I got home I recruited Ricky Riccardi to help narrate the videos and Tommy T to add his vision to the edit and turned the clips into short features with on each of the guys. Here’s the first. Enjoy!" James is a photographer and jazz enthusiast living in New York, NY. Doughnut SeedsPosted by Omar Kotondi. Original post by Premium Dad Jokes. That we’re gonna say, ‘we are bringing your daughter home, and we are sorry,’" said Ellie Kinley, Lummi tribal fisher and president of Sacred Sea. "We’re just hoping that with the apology, they realize that there’s hope, that we can learn. As humans, we can learn what we did was wrong, and we can correct that wrong,” “There are parallels between us and the southern residents. We had so many of our children taken and put in boarding schools. When those folks came back from boarding schools, they didn’t tell their story. They held it inside to not cause greater damage,” Kinley added. “I do know that she knows her southern resident’s song. It’s been played for her and she still recognizes it, because she was three or four years old when she was taken, so she’d already had years with her family.” READ entire original story as reported on a Seattle-area corporate media outlet. King of Strip Club Set ListsSTORY by Oedipa Maas I stripped to this (Pussy Tourette - French Bitch) . A lot. It was in my regular cd rotation. At the Mitchell brothers. So did a bunch of other “hipster” strippers I still know & love, who may want to remain anonymous about that. Anyway. I miss the solidarity between sex workers & LGBTQ (oh yeah there was crossover, big time…) San Francisco in the late 90s…who could have foreseen the hell it would become shortly thereafter? Art by Anja Rožen, a 13-year old elementary school student from Slovenia. She is the winner of the international contest Plakat MIRU. "My poster represents the earth that connects and unites us. People stick to each other. If one person let go, the rest will fall. We are all connected to our planet and to each other, but unfortunately we are little aware of it," said the young creator. Kathleen lives up above the world so high with the man of her dreams along the Blue Ridge Parkway. The Creation of GodPosted by Joanne Cole original post by Dorian-gray Alexander Art by Harmonia Rosales. This piece received much backlash, with critics going as far as calling her work a “disgrace, disgusting and cultural appropriation.” However, Rosales was trying to demonstrate that “we have been taught that God created ‘man’ in his own image. [But] in fact, we have created God in our own image.” This is why she called this painting The Creation of God. This image was created to show that White subjects are the standard in classic art while challenging the viewer to consider why that practice is commonly accepted. - Wikipedia Joanne is a prolific nonprofit fundraiser, part-time New Orleans resident, and creator of GOLD HILL GOO and Hand Made Knitted Hats, which are "VERY popular and guaranteed to get you compliments every time you wear them." The Usual RantsBy Ace Backwards. I used to get into a lot of arguments on my Facebook page. I don't do it nearly as much anymore. And maybe if I had any sense I wouldn't do it at all. . . It usually started with me posting one of the current news stories of the day, and giving my particular slant on it. And I'd often have hundreds of people commenting on the post, and the arguments would sometimes rage on for days. Or even weeks. Before they finally sputtered out in an exhausted heap. . . The comments ranged from thoughtful discourses on the nuances of the issue at hand. To the usual rants, insults and personal attacks. And everything in between. I guess I enjoyed doing it on some level (not so much on other levels). It was often stimulating. Hearing people express all the different sides of what was often a very convoluted issue. And it was fascinating how everybody looked at the same thing, but from their own particular slant. It often reminded me of what this one guy once said when he got in the middle of two guys who were vehemently arguing and tried to calm them down before they came to blows, and he said: "HEY! Everybody's got their OWN reality!" And that's for sure. Ace Backwards is a homeless writer and artist who lives in Berkeley, California.
